Decanter
New Coppo review from Decanter (Nov. 2022) about Moscato d’Asti Canelli Moncalviina 2021. “Beautiful nose, with deep orchard fruit (apple, peach, pear) and a nutty, savoury lining (toasted almonds, bread dough). This same complexity is echoed on the palate, with red apple peel, peach, apple pie, almonds croissant and wildflower honey. Balanced sweetness, offset by that savoury edge. A great companion to cheese and creamy mushroom dishes. Alc 5%”. More online.

Vinous
New Coppo Scores from Vinous, by Antonio Galloni (Oct 2022):
“Coppo is best known for its Barberas. The family has had an uneven track record with Barolo, but I have to say I was quite impressed white these two 2018s.”
Barolo Cellar Selection 2018 (94 pt.)
“The 2018 Barolo Cellar Selection is one of the best Barolos I have dated from Coppo, maybe the best. It presents an exotic mélange of spice, orange peel, macerated cherry, leather, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco, with terrific freshness and plenty of nuances. This mid-weight, beautifully perfumed Barolo is all class. Impressive.”
Barolo 2018 (90 pt.)
“Coppo’s 2018 is a soft, open-knit wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Dried cherry, worn-in leather, tobacco and spice all show notes of advancement that suggest the 2018 is on a fast track of aging. Even so, all the elements are nicely balanced in this easygoing offering.”
