Vinous

New Coppo Scores form Vinous, by Antonio Galloni (Sep 2021):

L’Avvocata 2019 Barbera d’Asti (88/100)
“The 2019 Barbera d’Asti L’Avvocata is a tasty, fruity Barbera to drink now and over the next few years, while the fruit remains vibrant and fresh. This is exactly what everyday Barbera should be. Delicious and unfussy”.

Camp du Rouss 2018 Barbera d’Asti (92/100)
“The 2018 Barbera d’Asti Camp du Rouss is a beautiful, elegant wine. Silky tannins wrap around a core of dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and leather. This mid-weight, polished Barbera is an absolutely pleasure to taste today”.

Nizza Bric del Marchese 2017 Nizza (94/100)
“A new wine in this range, the 2017 Nizza Bric del Marchese expresses all of the natural richness of the year. Inky dark fruit, mocha, spice, licorice and melted road tar all meld together in this sumptuous Barbera. The 2017 is not at all heavy or overdone, as was sometimes the case in this portfolio in the past. It is beautifully done. Sadly, there are just 2,000 bottles of it to go around”.

Riserva della Famiglia 2015 Nizza (93/100)
“The 2015 Nizza Riserva della Famiglia shows all of the complexity of a six-year-old Barbera in its bouquet and flavor profile. Smoke, grilled herbs, tar, rose petal, super-ripe plum and mocha all open with a bit of coaxing. The 2015 is deep and quite potent, yet also remains medium in body and overall structure. Drink it over the next 7-10 years”.
